Trains and rainy days

Yesterday we headed south to visit the Catalunya Railway Museum in Vilanova I la Geltru. When we arrive around 11.00 it seemed difficult to find a parking spot at the museum or in the close area that fits our camper (we need 4 normal parking lots). So we decide to drive a bit further out of the city and take the bikes to the museum. It's raining a bit again, but it is doable. The museum is next to the train station so we can easily park the bikes. It is not very busy, probably also due to the weather conditions, as the museum is mostly outdoors. It is a nice museum that has a lot of things to see for the railroad fans, and also for the bit less of a fan 😉. During our visit the sun comes out again and afterwards we cycle through the small, but lovely city. We pick up something to eat and go back the camper where we have lunch.

We do some grocery shopping and a bit of school work before we drive towards the Monastery of Santes Cruz. The area where the monastery is in is very nice and we have a stroll around the small town. As we don’t have much time we don’t go inside, but the courtyards are already lovely. We buy some local wine and drive back in the direction of the sea to Camping Joan at Cambrils. We can choose a pitch we like, and we go for one with sea view. The weather is still ok for the moment so we unpack, have a look at the beach and have dinner in the camper.

When we wake up it is raining so we decide to make it a calm and quite day at the campsite. Some schoolwork of course, a treasure hunt between the showers, a lot of games and some chores that still needed to be done. It is very windy so even our plan to cycle to Cambrils or Salou is not really working out.

As the weather forecast for the coming days is not so great, rainy and a lot of wind, we will drive faster in the direction of Valencia. And also because there is a festival in the city, so all campsites are fully booked for the weekend and we now could still book something for tomorrow until Friday.
